Wow! My dog seems to be really thirsty after being boarded. Maybe you are wondering if your pet received food or water during their stay? Be assured your pet received fresh food and water every day. This is a common response with pets when they return home. Here are a few things to keep in
mind to help your pet return to its normal routine.
Sometimes pets reduce their consumption of food and water when they are away from their home environment. We recommend you wait to offer food and water until your pet has had time to be calm after returning home. More than likely your pet will be very excited to be back home with the family. They will want to drink water and eat their food quickly, and it can lead to them gulping their food and water and result in vomiting and/or diarrhea. If your pet seems thirsty, start with some ice cubes in their dish. It is best to let your pet rest and be calm before eating and drinking water.
